Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef/Prep to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties
- Prepare fresh sushi and sashimi according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting innovative sushi options and seasonal specials
- Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and assembling ingredients efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to strict food safety protocols
- Support kitchen staff during busy service hours by ensuring timely meal preparation and plating
- Manage food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness
- Contribute to catering events by preparing sushi platters and assisting with special requests
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary setting, preferably with a focus on sushi or Japanese cuisine
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to sushi-making
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide practices is a plus
- Experience with menu planning, food service, and food industry operations
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating teamwork and adaptability
Pay: $700.00 - $1,300.00 per week
