Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated kitchen staff member to join our team in a family owned, small-batch scratch bakery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the culinary arts and excellent customer service skills. Because we are a very small operation, reliability is extremely important. Employees must be able to go up and down stairs, and lift 15 to 50 pounds depending on position. Must be able to function in a noisy, sometimes chaotic environment (yes, the village siren, oven timers, and phone all seem to go off at the same time). Above all, we are seeking friendly people who are passionate about good food and excellent customer service!
Perks include tips (generally $3 - $5 per hour) and no nights or weekends. Staff meals and shirts/hats are provided.
Ideal hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with some flexibility to work more or less hours certain days of the week.
Duties
- Make breakfast sandwiches to order
- Assist in food preparation and cooking tasks
- Support bakers with various duties
- Package food items for wholesale orders
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred
- Knowledge of pastry and knife skills is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well in a team
- Culinary education or training is beneficial
