Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking operations. In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC machines—including milling centers—using advanced programming skills to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in blueprint reading, measurement, and machining tools will ensure that every part meets strict specifications. Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machinery, including lathe and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and calibration for each job.
- Program CNC machines utilizing G-code and M-code, incorporating CAD/CAM software such as Fusion and other CAM programming tools to optimize machining processes.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce complex parts with precision.
- Operate manual machining tools when necessary to support production or troubleshooting tasks.
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform machine maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously while handling power tools, grinders, welding equipment, and other machining tools in a lean manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines; familiarity with Haas and Hurco controls is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming including G-code, M-code, and CNC quality inspection techniques.
- Skilled in blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation for metal machining applications.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in manual machining, grinding, welding, or plastics injection molding is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and safety standards in a manufacturing setting.
