Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality, acute care to patients in emergency situations, ensuring prompt assessment, stabilization, and treatment. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients presenting with diverse medical conditions, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, infectious diseases, and pediatric emergencies.
- Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, suturing, and airway management.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for documentation of patient care activities.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, imaging procedures (e.g., CT scans), and catheterizations.
- Implement aseptic techniques during invasive procedures and maintain sterile environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute effective discharge planning and patient education.
- Manage acute pain and trauma cases utilizing trauma medicine protocols within Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Conduct triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on severity of condition.
- Support infection control practices adhering to hospital standards and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Minimum of two years of ER experience within a hospital setting; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
- Strong knowledge of critical care procedures including ventilator management, airway management, and ICU protocols.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Skills in advanced nursing techniques such as suturing, phlebotomy, catheter care, ostomy care, and IV insertion.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and sterile processing procedures.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients.
