Commercial Floor Technician
Job Summary
Responsible for specialized periodic non-janitorial cleaning such as carpet, upholstery, and hard surface floor and other general cleaning in commercial or institutional buildings. Additionally, responsible for leading other team members in pursuing cleaning excellence.
Job Duties
- Respond to building requests as instructed.
- Perform carpet cleaning using extraction and other methods of carpet maintenance.
- Perform upholstery cleaning using extraction methods of upholstery cleaning.
- Perform hard surface floor care including strip or scrub machine cleaning followed by finish application.
- Perform tile & grout cleaning and other specialized floor care.
- Perform limited height exterior window cleaning.
- Clean and disinfect floors and other surfaces.
- Lead other team members while providing commercial floor care and janitorial cleaning.
- Assigned to or assist with routine janitorial cleaning including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, and other routine floor maintenance.
- Follow all safety and personnel rules, policies and regulations.
Job Qualifications
- Education and work history that demonstrates work ethic and responsibility.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and carry a 12 - 18 lbs. backpack vacuum cleaner.
- Physically able to be on your feet during an entire shift; walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching.
- Must be willing and able to work in damp, dusty and soiled areas and clean up human waste and other body fluids as necessary.
- Must be able to function as main contact for client in building, using high level of professionalism and communication skills.
- Must have ability to work with little to no supervision and be able to independently determine tasks to complete on a daily basis.
- Must be organized and able to follow a schedule, but also must be flexible and able have transportation to multiple work locations from day to day.
