Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Small Engine Mechanic with experience working on 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines commonly found in lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power equipment. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair 2-cycle and 4-cycle small engines
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tune-ups, carburetor cleaning, blade sharpening, belt/blade/tire replacement etc.)
- Troubleshoot electrical and fuel system issues
- Assemble and set up new equipment for customers
- Keep detailed records of repairs and parts used
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Experience
- Proven experience as a small engine or lawnmower mechanic (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine systems
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems
- Familiarity with outdoor power equipment brands (Stihl, Echo, Shindaiwa, Toro, Hustler, Wright, etc. a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the day
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
