Our client in Sterling Heights, MI is currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Quality Department within a fast-paced automotive/aerospace manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with customers, internal teams, and leadership to maintain high-quality standards, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with industry requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Quality Department and oversee quality technicians/support staff
- Work directly with customers to resolve quality concerns and maintain strong customer relationships
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities while maintaining CAR logs
- Monitor and maintain quality objectives and performance trends
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on achieving zero defects
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits
- Maintain quality documentation, records, and compliance processes
- Support risk management and continuous improvement activities
- Manage customer complaint and compliment tracking processes
- Review purchase orders and process routers for approval
- Provide training throughout the organization and maintain special process certifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of Quality Assurance Management experience in automotive, aerospace, or related manufacturing industries
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Experience with audits, corrective actions, and customer quality requirements
Preferred Skills:
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing knowledge
- Customer-facing quality management experience
- Experience leading quality teams in a production environment
Pay: $90k-$100 Depending on experience
