Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting trucks, skid steers, plows, trailers, mowers and other compact landscaping equipment within our shop environment. You’ll have the freedom and resources to run the shop as you see fit, but with the expectation of keeping trucks and equipment running with minimal downtime, and maintaining a clean, organized shop space.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled service intervals and document mileage/hours, parts, and tasks completed
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using proper diagnostic tools
- Repair or rebuild components to restore equipment to OEM performance standards
- Verify repairs with post-service functional testing
- Maintain shop organization, tool/parts inventory, and safety standards
- Keep the workspace clean, orderly, and safe for efficient workflow
- Respond to urgent repair requests and communicate status clearly to operations staff
- Attend weekly operations meeting
- Consistent attendance (typical shift: 6:30 – 4:00 spring –> fall, 7:30 – 4:00 winter)
Skills
- Proven experience with trucks, trailers and compact equipment repair
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently without supervision
- Capable of managing multiple priorities while keeping equipment ready year-round
- Available for on-call service during snow removal operations

Pay: $28.50 - $34.00 per hour
