ROLE IMPACT
Put your residential construction knowledge to work reviewing blueprints and building plans for energy-code compliance. You’ll perform plan take-offs, identify discrepancies, and enter technical data into energy modeling software. Your work helps builders keep residential and multifamily construction projects accurate, compliant, and moving forward.
KEY DUTIES

Review residential and multifamily construction blueprints and plans for compliance with energy codes and program standards.

Read scaled drawings and perform architectural take-offs, measurements, and calculations for energy modeling and field-testing targets.

Enter and review plan data using REM/Rate, Ekotrope, IC3, and company systems; identify discrepancies and report plan or code issues.

Prepare energy modeling reports and plan-review results for builders and maintain accurate electronic project files.

Provide technical plan information to inspectors and help keep plan reviews, documentation, and project data accurate and current.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years of residential construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to read construction blueprints, floor plans, and scaled drawings and perform accurate measurements and calculations

Must obtain HERS Rater and International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) certifications within 90 days of employment or other authorized period
PREFERRED SKILLS

Knowledge of residential building construction materials, design, building codes, and construction techniques

Experience with REM/Rate, Ekotrope, IC3, AutoCAD, HERS, RESNET, ENERGY STAR, or similar plan review and energy modeling systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare accurate technical reports and work with builders, inspectors, and internal teams

Must possess a valid State of Texas driver’s license and maintain a good driving record, be eligible for coverage under the company’s fleet auto insurance, and be able to travel.
Must be able to type a minimum of 45 WPM and maintain punctuality and attendance as scheduled.
