A Facility Maintenance Manager position is available for Jay Group, a 3PL company located in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a distribution or a fulfillment center. In addition, to being responsible for the maintenance of the facilities, the individual will also work as a member of the maintenance team.
Facility Maintenance Manager Job Responsibilities:

Maintains preventive maintenance programs and agreements for electric, plumbing, HVAC, lawn & tree care, housekeeping, elevators, powered industrial equipment, fire and security, fire suppression sprinklers, pest control, and snow removal of all facilities.

Maintains all maintenance records including logs of maintenance requests, work start and completion, technician or vendor completing work, and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.

Maintains inventory of critical spare parts as required by the business.

Ensures equipment is in proper working order and safety mechanisms have not been disabled or rendered ineffective as part of a repair or preventative maintenance.

Manages and coordinates all activities with outside vendors to complete preventative maintenance and larger projects that cannot be handled by the maintenance team.

Coordinates activities to complete maintenance requests submitted by employees in all departments of the company and for any companies that lease space from Jay Group.

Supports operations with staffing or outside resources to maintain structures, systems, production and warehouse equipment and offices.

Observes proper lock-out, tag-out procedures.

Ensures that equipment requiring repair is removed from use, is effectively repaired, and tested prior to reintroduction to active production.

Prepares requisitions for tools, equipment, and supplies.

Assists with annual budgeting process by presenting a list of recommended projects and estimated costs.

Travel will be required on occasion to our Lancaster, PA and/or Reno, NV facilities and when other locations are opened throughout the United States.

Facilities do operate 7 days a week. Could be required to work outside of normal business hours based on business need. Especially during the 4th quarter of the year or during any peak business time.

Manage the maintenance team by approving timecards and handling all Supervisory responsibilities.
The qualified candidate will have the following experience:

Five (5) years of related maintenance, carpentry, electrical, and equipment repair in a light industrial environment required.

Prior experience managing facility related maintenance projects including vendor management, is required

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineered drawings, architectural and mechanical prints

Experience w/conveyors, PLC's, photo-eyes, scanners and imagers, basic warehouse equip. including stretch wrappers, pallet jacks, bailers, compactors and PIT's.

Strong communication skills

Remain detail oriented while multi-tasking

Proficient computer skills w/Microsoft office Suite: Outlook, Word, & Excel.

Knowledge of AutoCAD is desired

Previous Supervisory experience is required
