As an Equipment Operator your primary responsibility is to complete tasks safely and accurately assigned by the Superintendent/Foreman using construction equipment.
Key responsibilities

Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety is always the highest priority.

Participate in all required safety training.

Perform daily equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and is in safe operating condition.

Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.

Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers or falling objects.

Have appropriate clothing, work boots and PPE while on the job site.
-
Be aware of underground services, such as pipes or wire prior to beginning work and be cautious of their locations throughout the workday.

Read job plans to ensure a thorough knowledge of the job at hand.

Check all equipment fluids prior to starting the workday.

Check fuel supplies of all equipment at the job site on a daily basis – prior to beginning work, and before completing work, to ensure that equipment is ready to operate at any time.
Chipper

Understand safety, wear parts, and daily/weekly maintenance.

Able to chip at production rate given per acre.

Understand changing of knives daily if needed.
Dozer
-
Grub with KG Blade at a rate of 4-5 acres per day.

Use bucket thumb, grapple, and shear.

Stack for grinder at a rate of 4-5 acres per day.
