Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shop operations, including customer service, sales, employee management, workflow efficiency, and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with automotive industry experience and a passion for delivering outstanding results.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the repair facility
- Lead, coach, and develop service advisors and technicians
- Monitor shop productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Ensure excellent customer service and customer satisfaction
- Oversee scheduling, workflow management, and quality control
- Review estimates, invoices, and repair recommendations
- Maintain inventory and vendor relationships
- Recruit, hire, and train team members as needed
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvement strategies
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Develop and execute marketing and customer retention initiatives
Qualifications
- 3+ years of management experience in the automotive repair industry preferred
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Proven track record of increasing sales and profitability
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Experience with shop management software and automotive estimating systems
- Ability to multitask and make sound business decisions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
