Join our Aberdeen team as an Assistant Produce Manager and play a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the produce department. This position helps ensure the department is well-stocked, clean, and organized, while providing customers with fresh, high-quality produce and excellent service.
Duties
- Help order, receive (including unloading pallets), inspect, and stock fresh produce and related products.
- Maintain proper product rotation and ensure freshness and quality standards are met.
- Maintain attractive, well-stocked, and properly priced produce displays.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service and assist customers with product questions.
- Take orders by phone, email, or in person; gather products; and use the register to ring up orders.
- Ensure department displays, coolers, storage areas, and work areas are clean and organized.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Step in to oversee the department when the Produce Manager is unavailable.
Skills
- Strong leadership skills; managerial experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication skills for effective team management and customer interactions.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on time management and multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. The employee must be able to safely handle and move boxes and cases of produce and other merchandise.
