Key Responsibilities
- Install residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and controls per manufacturer specifications.
- Complete system startup, balance airflow, verify refrigerant charge, and ensure proper electrical wiring and thermostat setup.
- Coordinate with service technicians, apprentices, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites while following company and OSHA safety protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, equipment specifications, and installation manuals.
- Communicate professionally with customers, explaining installation steps and system operation.
- Adhere to company policies, EPA Section 608 regulations, and all local codes and manufacturer requirements.
- Document installation details including model/serial numbers, project time, materials used, and recommendations for maintenance or upgrades.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude with HVAC equipment, ductwork, refrigerant systems, electrical wiring, and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and installation instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, and working in attics/crawl spaces or varied weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Experience with variable-speed, high-efficiency systems, and smart thermostats.
- Familiarity with both residential and light-commercial installations.
- Ability to mentor apprentices or assist with training new installers.
