Responsibilities
- Assist in managing leasing activities, including lease or rental agreement management and tenant onboarding processes.
- Support property maintenance coordination by communicating with vendors, tracking work orders, and ensuring timely repairs.
- Utilize property management tools such as Yardi, AppFolio and Google Sheets(training provided) to update resident records, process rent payments, and generate reports.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Landlord-tenant law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other legal standards.
- Manage CMHA Sec8 tenants
- Handle client communication with professionalism via phone, email, and in-person interactions to address inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Contribute to budgeting efforts by tracking expenses and assisting with financial reporting.
- Manage conflict resolution between tenants or vendors using effective conflict management techniques while maintaining positive relationships.
Requirements
- Proven experience with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite; familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 programs, and property leasing procedures.
- Previous experience in real estate administrative roles or property management companies demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and client relationship management abilities.
- Ability to handle contracts, negotiation processes, and upselling opportunities confidently while maintaining integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Google Sheets Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, filing, reporting, and correspondence.
- Demonstrated team management capabilities along with conflict management skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Office experience supporting facilities management or property maintenance activities is advantageous.
