Chief Purpose of the Position
VCU Dental Care is looking for a Patient Care Coordinator to support a positive patient experience by managing scheduling, registration, patient accounts, insurance verification, billing support, and patient communication. This position serves as a primary resource for patients and works closely with clinical teams to ensure accurate and efficient patient care coordination.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, students, residents, faculty, and staff.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong telephone etiquette and accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to explain patient account balances and financial information clearly.
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Dental terminology and office experience preferred.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Customer service experience required.
- Dental or medical office experience preferred.
- Insurance verification and/or accounts receivable experience preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience
