Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Record and process all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems
- Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Prepare journal entries, general ledger entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with payroll processing, including tax calculations and compliance with payroll regulations
- Generate detailed financial reports, including budgets, financial statements, and audit documentation
- Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational accounting standards
- Conduct account reconciliation activities regularly to verify data integrity across all accounts
- Support tax preparation efforts by maintaining organized records of deductible expenses and other relevant documentation
- Utilize spreadsheets for data analysis, budgeting, and reporting purposes
Experience
- Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of accounting principles such as debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger management
- Hands-on experience with popular accounting software including QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial software tools
- Familiarity with corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting procedures is highly desirable
- Knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
- Experience in public accounting or working within an organization that emphasizes compliance with GAAP standards is a plus
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or similar) for data management and report writing
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform account reconciliation accurately and efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
