Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety standards
- Operate basic kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to uphold hygiene standards
- Support meal assembly and presentation according to menu specifications
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of stock levels
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals and smooth kitchen operations
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, and operating kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal assembly processes
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen team members
- Ability to perform knife skills, slicing techniques, and other culinary tasks with precision
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production environments, including sanitation practices
- Catering or restaurant experience is a plus for understanding high-volume food service demands
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
