Our client is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing and services to the homeless population. They are seeking a Field Technician to travel around to different locations to install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot equipment or systems on-site.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain company customer service standards by responding to directions from the Facilities Manager and complying with tenants and building requests.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, painting, sheetrock, etc.
- Coordinate and complete service requests and general maintenance tasks in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
- Conduct routine inspections with the Facilities Manager to identify maintenance needs and perform preventative tasks.
- Ability to multitask and complete jobs within specific timeframes, prioritizing emergency repairs and needs throughout the portfolio.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Maintain professionalism and care while servicing tenant apartments, commit to training in trauma informed care practices.
- Other tasks as requested by the Facilities Manager.
Requirements:
- Work closely with facilities manager and supers to assist in ensuring the ongoing maintenance of the buildings.
- Always maintains a professional demeanor. Interacts positively with others to meet organization’s objectives.
- Uses the app-based program Rent Manager to update maintenance records and organize and complete work orders.
- Yearly commitment to training in trauma-informed care and working with survivors of domestic violence.
- Ability to communicate, manage, and complete multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent customer service skills, handling matters in a courteous and timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and car is required to travel between job sites.
- Experience in general maintenance is required.
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general renovations is required.
- Plumbing and electrical licenses preferred.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot various issues independently.
- Comfortability with using a computer and phone for consistent communication with staff and tenants
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
