Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in Wound Care to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed wound evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer injections such as Botulinum toxin treatments and perform suturing procedures with aseptic technique to facilitate wound closure and pain management.
- Manage complex wounds using advanced techniques, including debridement, dressing changes, and infection control strategies aligned with clinical research protocols.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and data collection in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as ICD-10 coding for diagnoses and CPT codes for procedures to ensure precise billing and coding practices.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to wound care innovations and contribute to quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
Experience
- Prior hospital experience in acute care settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EMR systems including Epic or Cerner for documentation and data management.
- Critical care experience within ICU or emergency room environments is essential for managing complex cases involving ventilator use or infectious disease care.
- Experience with telehealth platforms for remote patient monitoring and consultation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of advanced wound management techniques including the use of dermal fillers or esthetic laser treatments is a plus.
- Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and medication administration regulations ensures compliance with healthcare policies.
- Strong background in clinical research or clinical trials related to wound healing or infectious disease management enhances your contribution to ongoing innovations in the field.
