This position is based on the current Practical Nursing Instructor job description and responsibilities.
Salary
Full-Time Faculty: $65,000-$85,000 annually, depending on education and experience
Part-Time Clinical Instructor: $37.00 per hour
Responsibilities
As a Nursing Instructor, you will:
- Teach classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical courses within the practical nursing curriculum.
- Create an engaging learning environment that promotes student success.
- Supervise students in clinical settings while ensuring safe, evidence-based patient care.
- Evaluate student academic and clinical performance and provide timely feedback.
- Participate in curriculum development, course planning, and program evaluation.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, grading, and required documentation.
- Advise and mentor students throughout the program.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty, administration, and clinical partners.
- Participate in faculty meetings, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, IDFPR regulations, accreditation standards, and Career Center policies.
- Support the mission of Beck School of Practical Nursing by fostering professionalism, integrity, and lifelong learning.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring future nurses
Preferred
- Previous classroom or clinical instruction experience
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher
- Experience with simulation, clinical education, or curriculum development
- Illinois Professional Educator License (not required)
ScheduleFull-Time Faculty
- Monday, Thursday, and Friday: Classroom instruction (approximately 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
- Tuesday and Wednesday: Clinical instruction (hours vary by clinical site)
- Occasional evening events, including orientations, graduation, and community outreach
Part-Time Clinical Instructor Opportunities
We are currently seeking Clinical Instructors for Tuesday and Wednesday clinical rotations.
- Clinical schedule is generally 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Hours may vary depending on the schedule and requirements of the assigned clinical site
- Opportunity to mentor nursing students in a hands-on clinical environment while working alongside healthcare partners
