Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and outgoing Barista to join our growing team! In this role, you will welcome customers into the coffee shop and prepare their coffee orders. As a key member of our team, you will handle POS systems, ensure food safety standards, manage customer interactions with enthusiasm and professionalism, and pitch in to help your team members ensure a clean and comfortable environment for our guests. Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, other beverages, and food items with precision and care.
- Operate POS system to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling and preparation stations.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy, including cashiering and basic retail math.
- Follow food safety protocols and food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and restocking supplies as needed.
- Assist in opening, closing, and general cleaning duties as needed to maintain a clean cafe.
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or strong background in coffee service preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast is highly desirable, but not necessary.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during busy periods.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities.
- Familiarity with food safety guidelines.
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain shortly after hiring.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift more than 25lbs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.67 - $24.00 per hour
