Position: KennelTechnician/Overnight Team Members
Hours: Full and Part-Time Available (Summer Help)
Location: Rancho Santa Margarita Facility
Essential Duties:
This position requires an enthusiastic individual who shares our love and passion for dogs. You must be hard-working, dedicated, reliable, and a team player. You must have a good memory and be great at multitasking. You must be kind towards and accepting of all sizes, ages, and breeds of dogs.
Overnight Attendant - If you love working at night, then this position is for you! The shift starts with working with our team to get the dogs out for late-night potty. The rest of the shift is cleaning. The candidate must be responsible, mature, and used to working alone at night.
Duties for the Kennel Team include, but are not limited to:
- Thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting duties
- Ensuring all daily kennel staff duties are completed
- Making sure all daycare, boarding, and lobby areas are cleaned per Wags and Wiggles guidelines
- Cleaning up after dogs
- Handling dogs appropriately using positive reinforcement techniques
- Recognizing dog body language
- Easily remembering dogs' names, breeds, and details about individual dogs
- Working as part of a team
- Laundering used bedding and blankets
- Making sure all kennel dogs are walked, are housed in a clean area, and have water
- Assisting with keeping the kennel rooms clean and quiet
- Small repairs around the facility
Required Qualifications:
- Must be devoted to dogs!
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds
- Must be able to be on your feet and moving frequently
- Must be able to handle all types of dogs, including large breeds
- Must be able to work around disinfectants, dog hair, and other potential allergens
- Must be patient and able to work both in a group setting and individually
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends
- Must be able to work overnight

- Previous experience working with dogs or other animals
