We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and self-motivated English Test Prep Instructor to teach students preparing for the ISEE, SSAT, or Digital SAT.
iLEARN provides a structured curriculum and instructional materials. The instructor's primary responsibility is to deliver engaging lessons, identify student weaknesses, and teach effective test-taking strategies that help students improve both their skills and test performance.
The ideal candidate understands not only English content, but also how to coach students through standardized exams by teaching pacing, question analysis, answer elimination, and strategic thinking.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach English for ISEE, SSAT, or Digital SAT preparation in one-on-one and small-group settings.
- Deliver lessons using iLEARN's established curriculum and instructional materials.
- Teach effective test-taking strategies, including pacing, time management, answer elimination, and question analysis.
- Review homework and practice tests to identify student strengths and areas for improvement.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to help students improve both accuracy and confidence.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional emphasis as needed.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and academically rigorous learning environment.
- Communicate professionally with the academic team regarding student progress.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, or other standardized tests.
- Strong understanding of English grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing.
- Strong knowledge of standardized test-taking strategies.
- Available to teach weekday evenings and Saturdays.
- Highly responsible, detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
Preferred
- Personally achieved a high score on the ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, or another standardized exam is preferred
- Demonstrated success helping students improve standardized test scores.
- Experience teaching both one-on-one and small-group classes.
- Familiarity with the Digital SAT format.
Pay: $26.00 - $45.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
