Job Summary:
The Enhancement Foreman 2 is SWL's most senior field-level installation leader. In addition to all Foreman 1 responsibilities, the Foreman 2 manages complex, multi-phase enhancement projects with significant independence, mentors Foreman 1 crew leaders, coordinates multi-crew mobilizations, and serves as the Landscape Division Manager's primary field resource. The Foreman 2 ensures every project delivers the quality the Landscape Designer specified and the client expects.
Responsibilities
SENIOR PROJECT LEADERSHIP
- All Enhancement Foreman 1 responsibilities plus expanded independence, judgment, and accountability on complex multi-phase projects.
- Manage large-scale enhancement projects including multi-acre turf conversions, full property renovations, and multi-week commercial installation jobs without requiring LDM involvement on routine daily execution.
- Coordinate multi-crew mobilizations when a project requires more than one crew simultaneously; assign crew sections, manage material flow, and maintain quality across all active areas.
- Provide the Landscape Division Manager with daily project status updates covering scope progress, material consumption, upcoming needs, and issues requiring LDM attention.
FOREMAN MENTORSHIP
- Actively mentor Enhancement Foreman 1 crew leaders on project management, crew communication, quality standards, and plan reading.
- Assist the LDM in onboarding new Foreman 1 leaders by demonstrating mobilization, crew briefing, and quality review processes.
ADVANCED TECHNICAL OPERATIONS
- Perform and oversee advanced irrigation installation including multi-zone system layout, mainline installation, backflow preventer placement, and controller programming.
- Lead complex hardscape installation including permeable paver systems, retaining wall construction, and decorative concrete work.
- Perform precision grading and drainage work; read and apply grading plans accurately.
SAFETY LEADERSHIP
- All Foreman 1 safety responsibilities with the added expectation of setting the safety culture standard for all Enhancement Division crews.
- Identify systemic safety gaps or recurring hazards and communicate them to the LDM with a recommended solution.
Enhancement Foreman 2 must be fully proficient with all equipment below and able to train crew members.
- Skid steer (all attachments including auger, fork, bucket, sweeper), compact excavator (full operation including grading and trenching)
- Plate compactor, jumping jack, walk-behind roller, laser level operation, fine grading
- Multi-zone system layout, mainline installation (2"+ pipe), backflow preventer installation, controller programming (WeatherMatic, Rain Bird, Hunter), pressure testing
- Permeable paver systems, retaining wall construction (block and natural stone), decorative concrete prep, drainage channel installation
- Hydroseeding coordination, decomposed granite installation, soil amendment programs, drainage swales
- All crew trucks, tandem axle trailers, equipment trailers; assists LDM with fleet readiness
- Full range; chainsaw at ground level if licensed; concrete saw; rebar cutter; conduit bender
- Full PPE set; hard hat and face shield for concrete and saw work; ensures all crew members in full compliance

Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of commercial landscape installation experience across planting, full irrigation systems, and hardscape construction.
- Full proficiency with skid steer, compact excavator, and all Enhancement Foreman 1 equipment and techniques.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-phase commercial landscape projects from mobilization through close-out.
- Ability to read and apply full construction-level landscape design documents including grading plans and irrigation schematics.
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to pass background check, MVR check, and pre-employment screening per SWL policy.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
