As a Diesel Mechanic with Waste Connections, your primary responsibility is to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. Key duties include:

Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment

Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems

Utilizing vehicle computer diagnostic systems to identify failures and program engine and vehicle control modules

Responding to road calls and emergency repairs as needed
-
Reviewing, completing, or assigning repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
-
Completing maintenance documentation using fleet maintenance software
-
Test driving vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation

Supporting team members with repairs and troubleshooting when needed

Maintaining professional, courteous communication with drivers and coworkers
-
Keeping a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards

Performing additional job-related duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

Strong experience with diesel engine diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance

Proficiency using a variety of diesel diagnostic tools
-
A basic set of mechanic tools

Class B CDL (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire)

Hydraulic system experience (preferred but not required)
