Job Overview
PRISA Hospitality is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented, and results-driven hospitality leader to support the opening and ongoing operations of the dual-branded Hampton by Hilton San Juan and Homewood Suites by Hilton San Juan. This leader will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a passion for creating memorable guest experiences while driving operational excellence, team engagement, financial performance, and Hilton brand compliance.
The Food & Beverage Manager partners with the General Manager and Operations Manager to oversee all Food & Beverage operations for the dual-branded hotel. This position is responsible for leading the daily operation of the complimentary breakfast, Homewood Suites evening reception, Lobby Bar, Rooftop Pool Bar, banquet and catering operations, meeting space food service, and kitchen operations while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, revenue growth, and profitability.
As a key member of the hotel's leadership team, the Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for building a culture of hospitality, accountability, innovation, and service excellence while delivering memorable dining and event experiences that strengthen guest loyalty and position the hotel as a preferred destination within the San Juan market.
Principal Responsibilities
Food & Beverage Operations Leadership
- Lead the daily operations of all Food & Beverage outlets, including complimentary breakfast, Homewood Suites evening reception, Lobby Bar, Rooftop Pool Bar, banquet operations, meeting space services, and kitchen operations.
- Partner with the General Manager to achieve operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and ownership objectives.
- Foster a culture of hospitality, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure consistent execution of Hilton brand standards across all Food & Beverage operations.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Create memorable dining and beverage experiences that exceed guest expectations and drive guest loyalty.
- Ensure exceptional service standards across all outlets through visible leadership and coaching.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, online reviews, and service recovery opportunities while implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop unique guest experiences, seasonal activations, and promotional initiatives that enhance the hotel's Food & Beverage offerings.
- Ensure VIP guests, Hilton Honors members, groups, and special events receive personalized and exceptional service.
Restaurant, Bar & Banquet Operations
- Oversee daily operations of the breakfast restaurant, evening reception, Lobby Bar, Rooftop Pool Bar, banquet events, and meeting space food service.
- Ensure banquet event orders are executed flawlessly through close coordination with Sales, Operations, and Engineering.
- Supervise banquet setup, service execution, and event breakdown while maintaining Hilton service standards.
- Maintain exceptional food presentation, beverage quality, cleanliness, ambiance, and operational readiness across all outlets.
- Ensure all outlets consistently deliver an efficient, welcoming, and memorable guest experience.
Revenue Growth & Commercial Performance
- Drive Food & Beverage revenue through innovative programming, upselling initiatives, promotions, and exceptional guest service.
- Develop strategies to increase bar revenue, banquet revenue, catering sales, and outlet profitability.
- Partner with Sales and Revenue Management to maximize banquet opportunities, group business, local events, and special promotions.
- Analyze revenue trends, guest preferences, menu performance, and market opportunities to identify areas for growth.
- Promote the hotel's Food & Beverage outlets within the local community while supporting Hilton Honors engagement and hotel marketing initiatives.
Financial Performance
- Manage departmental budgets, labor productivity, scheduling, payroll, and controllable expenses.
- Monitor food cost, beverage cost, inventory controls, purchasing practices, and waste reduction.
- Analyze financial performance through departmental reports, forecasting, labor productivity, revenue trends, and profitability.
- Implement cost-control initiatives while maintaining exceptional quality and guest satisfaction.
Food Safety & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, HACCP principles, local health regulations, OSHA requirements, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Maintain the highest standards of sanitation, cleanliness, food safety, and operational excellence.
- Prepare the department for Hilton Quality Assurance reviews, health inspections, and ownership audits.
- Monitor food quality, beverage consistency, and presentation standards across all outlets.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, train, coach, develop, and evaluate the Food & Beverage Supervisor and all Food & Beverage associates.
- Foster a positive culture focused on accountability, teamwork, recognition, and continuous learning.
- Conduct daily line-ups, service training, menu education, and leadership development.
- Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, onboarding, associate engagement, recognition, and succession planning.
Pre-Opening Responsibilities
- Support the successful opening of all Food & Beverage outlets.
- Develop departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operating manuals, and service standards.
- Coordinate opening inventories, equipment installation, smallwares, uniforms, menus, and operating supplies.
- Participate in menu tastings, mock service events, operational testing, and Hilton opening readiness activities.
- Ensure all Food & Beverage areas are fully operational and guest-ready for opening day.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with PRISA leadership, ownership, and cross-functional teams to support company objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Champion continuous improvement in service delivery, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the General Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience within a branded hotel environment.
- Previous experience as Food & Beverage Manager, Restaurant Manager, Banquet Manager, Outlet Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong operational knowledge of restaurants, bars, banquets, catering, food safety, labor management, inventory control, purchasing, and financial performance.
- Hilton brand experience preferred; familiarity with Hilton operating systems is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
