Job Title: Experienced Cook
Job Overview:
LGC Hospitality Staffing is hiring experienced Cooks to support healthcare facilities and senior living communities. This is a temporary, on-call position ideal for culinary professionals who are dependable, safety focused, and experienced in preparing high-quality meals in healthcare environments.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of cooking experience in a healthcare or senior living setting, is comfortable following standardized recipes and therapeutic diet requirements, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, sanitation, and resident satisfaction while representing LGC professionally at client locations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines
- Ensure meals are prepared and served in accordance with therapeutic and modified diet requirements
- Perform food preparation including chopping, slicing, portioning, and ingredient preparation
- Maintain proper food temperatures, portion control, and quality standards
- Assist with meal service and ensure timely food production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen and workstation throughout each shift
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and client-specific procedures
- Properly store, label, rotate, and date food products
- Communicate effectively with dietary managers, chefs, supervisors, and healthcare staff
- Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready to work

Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of cooking experience in a healthcare or senior living environment required
- Current Food Manager Certification required
- Current ServSafe Certification required
- Resume required to be considered
- Experience preparing meals according to standardized recipes and therapeutic diet requirements
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable transportation to various job sites
- Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Professional appearance and dependable attendance
