The Valve Technician will ensure that all valves operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced automation systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and vision inspection systems to support manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of valves using precision measuring instruments, schematics, and calibration tools.
- Repair and replace valve components, including actuators, sensors, and seals, ensuring optimal performance.
- Calibrate valves and associated control systems to meet specified operational parameters.
- Interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and AutoCAD drawings to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct field service activities on-site at customer facilities or manufacturing plants to install, maintain, or repair valves.
- Utilize industrial electrician experience to troubleshoot high voltage and low voltage electrical systems associated with valve controls.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, calibration results, and repairs for compliance and quality assurance.
- Support the integration of distributed control systems (DCS), CNC machinery, vision inspection systems, and other automation equipment.
- Assist in the development of maintenance procedures and technical documentation for valve systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades involving Calypso software or other control platforms.
- Ensure safety standards are adhered to during all maintenance operations, especially when working with high voltage or military-grade equipment.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Proven experience with electrical systems including E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation) work and high/low voltage applications.
- Strong understanding of schematics interpretation, calibration procedures, and the use of precision instruments such as ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and sensor technology.
- Ability to read AutoCAD drawings and develop or modify technical schematics as needed.
- Experience working with vision inspection systems and calibration tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Calypso software or similar control platform is advantageous.
- Background in CNC machinery operation or maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills for field service engagements at client sites.
- Military experience or background is considered an asset due to familiarity with rigorous standards. If you possess a comprehensive technical skill set combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting in industrial environments, we encourage you to apply. Join our team to contribute to the reliability and efficiency of critical valve systems across diverse industries.
