Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty brews with precision.
- Pour and serve a diverse selection of beers, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to responsible serving practices.
- Greet customers warmly, taking orders accurately while providing knowledgeable recommendations on drinks.
- Operate Toast POS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café or bar area in compliance with food safety standards and food handling regulations.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without sacrificing quality.
- Handle cash register operations accurately, including cashiering duties like giving change and processing payments.
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness.
- Foster a friendly environment by engaging with customers to enhance their experience and encourage repeat visits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a barista or beertender in a café, brewery, or retail setting with a strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively in fast-paced environments.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and proper food preparation techniques.
- Experience in the food industry or retail environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
