Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED)
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 36 hours/week
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

We are seeking a skilled and confident Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity Emergency Department in Hartford, Connecticut. Position Overview
The Emergency Department RN is responsible for providing rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment for patients presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, possesses excellent critical thinking skills, and has recent trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care using emergency triage principles.
- Deliver timely, evidence-based nursing care for critically ill and injured patients.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in clinical status.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Assist with trauma activations and emergency procedures.
- Accurately document patient care using the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience
- Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Current ACLS (AHA)
- Current TNCC
- Current PALS or ENPC
Required Compliance
Candidates must complete all required onboarding and credentialing prior to their start date, including:
- Professional license verification
- Skills checklist and specialty competency testing
- Background check
- Drug screen
- Physical/health clearance
- Respirator evaluation and fit testing
- Required immunizations and health records (including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Influenza, COVID-19, Tdap, and TB screening)
- Education verification and additional facility onboarding requirements
