Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a Clerical Float (Patient Service Representative) to provide coverage across all of our primary care offices in Central Ohio. The Clerical Float is assigned to the care area of greatest need as a key point of contact for patients. Responsibilities include providing patients and guests with a positive customer service experience from start to finish during their visit. This position works closely with patients, clinical teams, and business offices on accurately checking in, collecting ID and insurance cards, signatures and copay/deductible, and checking out.
- Full-Time/Benefits Eligible
- Monday-Friday - times will vary but a normal day is 7:45am - 5pm.
- Central Ohio and surrounding areas
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with assigned area team to ensure COPC and practice/site standards are being met to achieve patient satisfaction.
- Ensure patients have a positive experience during their visit, whether in-person, telehealth and/or over the phone.
Qualifications:
Experience, Education, Licensures & Certifications
- Preferred: 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare related setting
- Required: High School diploma or GED
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to frequent assignment changes and varying environments.
- Ability to work with a variety of patient populations including Adults, Pediatrics, and specialty care.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; as well as interpersonal relationship building abilities.

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time effectively and respond timely to patients and/or visitors.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and understanding of patient privacy and ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment; and able to lead by example.\
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft programs, and understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR systems).
