JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Medical Receptionist is a member of the patient care team and the primary point of patient contact, responsible for positive patient relations, proper telephone communication, patient registration and checkout, medical records tracking, as well as payment and co-payment collection. Performs routine duties associated with the collection and maintenance of current patient demographics and insurance information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the front desk reception area including check in/checking out patients.
Collects co-payments/Posts Co-pays on Cash log for billing
Provides general directions and information to all callers, visitors and provides assistance as needed.
Assists patients with questions regarding accounts.
Makes follow up appointments as needed and takes care of medical record requests and invoices.
Responsible for patient flow in the reception area/Answer phones/Service Center faxes
Responsible for keeping reception area clean and supplied with necessary forms.
Assist with calling and confirming patient appointments if needed to ensure schedule is kept accurate for providers.
Other duties as assigned by Practice Manager.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent customer service.
Computer literate.
Ability to effectively present information to patients, physician, and employees.
Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
2-3 years previous experience in a medical office environment preferred.
Ability to multi-task in a high volume clinic/Answer Phones
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
