Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting senior maintenance technicians with the repair and maintenance of production equipment, facility systems, and building infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial maintenance and possesses strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and troubleshooting skills.
This role works independently on projects of moderate complexity while also supporting senior maintenance technicians on more advanced repairs. In addition to maintenance responsibilities, the technician will assist with general facility upkeep and periodic custodial duties to help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance technicians with the repair and preventive maintenance of production equipment while following all company safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve equipment and facility maintenance issues.
- Perform general building maintenance including drywall repair, painting, doors, flooring, fixtures, and other facility repairs.
- Respond to plumbing maintenance needs throughout the plant and office.
- Assist with mechanical repairs, fabrication, carpentry, and equipment installation.
- Help install, align, and maintain new equipment.
- Complete and document maintenance work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and assist with ordering replacement materials.
- Provide basic support for computer systems, network equipment, and telephone systems.
- Perform periodic custodial duties throughout the facility.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with company event and meeting setup and breakdown, including tables and chairs.
- Pick up parts and supplies from local vendors as needed.
- Serve as a maintenance helper to senior maintenance technicians on complex projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems
- Plumbing
- Pneumatics
- Rigging practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to support office technology and communication systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- PIT (Powered Industrial Truck/Forklift) Certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Preventive maintenance experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in manufacturing and warehouse environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to machinery.
- Ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
