Overview
Muoi Tieu is a small family-run Vietnamese restaurant. We are seeking talented and experienced individuals to join our team. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves to create a great experience for people, has a positive and team-oriented mindset, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Some knowledge or a strong interest in Vietnamese cuisine is a plus!
Duties
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, providing them with menus and information about daily specials.
- Communicate specials and important menu information to guests.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Move well in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain positive attitude and attention to detail even during busy times.
- Record and track reservations accurately; managing table timing as needed
- Provide recommendations on menu items based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication regarding orders and special requests.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations throughout the shift.
- Assist with food or drink preparation when necessary, ensuring adherence to culinary standards.
- Manage time effectively to balance multiple tables, takeout orders, and guest requests during peak hours.
- Be proactive in handling server tasks as assigned as well as helping out wherever needed.
- Listen to guest feedback and relay to managers.
Experience/Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional guest services and a strong background in food service. As a server, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests while ensuring that all their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in casual/fine dining restaurant setting is required.
- Have great attention to detail.
- Strong guest service skills with an ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be punctual and reliable (e.g., showing up for shifts as scheduled or informing management in a timely manner of late arrival/absences)
- Be open to job performance feedback and be able to implement adjustments right away.
- Maintain a positive attitude, even under pressure (patience with guests and coworkers is absolutely critical, particularly during busy times).
