Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of Cranes using diesel engines. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with Crane systems, utilize your fabrication skills, and contribute to the maintenance of critical equipment in the Heavy Lift industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM manuals.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other support equipment.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment parts as needed.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks including tire service, alignment adjustments, brake repairs, HVAC servicing, and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repair procedures and assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate safety protocols.
- Interpret technical schematics and mechanical diagrams to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering solutions that meet our standards.
Skills
- Proven diesel mechanic experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines and industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.
- Familiarity with OEM specifications and ability to read schematics accurately.
- Experience working with cranes, forklifts, trucks, HVAC systems, etc.
- Proficient in automotive diagnostics tools and power tools used in equipment repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Strong customer service orientation with clear communication skills for interacting with clients or team members.
