North Suffolk is looking for an American Sign Language Interpreter to join our team! As an ASL Interpreter, you will provide ASL interpretation for adult Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing clients served by our Adult Community Clinical Services team, as well as for Deaf/HoH staff members in our offices and community settings.
Interpreting assignments may include administrative meetings, client meetings, educational opportunities and trainings, staff and client presentations, and mental health/medical appointments.
What you’ll do:

Provide ASL interpretation services for clients and staff in person & remotely as needed

Travel to appointments and assignments as required

Adhere to all HIPAA requirements and professional Code of Ethics

Participate in continuing education and professional training for interpreters
What you'll need:

Fluency in American Sign Language required

NIC, RID, or equivalent certification preferred

Cultural knowledge of the Deaf community and its resources

Familiarity with Mental Health conditions/experience working in a Behavioral Health setting strongly preferred

Two years interpreting experience
