The Barn Hand is responsible for carrying out daily tasks to ensure that the barn is clean and organized. The groom reports to the Head Groom.
This individual must be enthusiastic, motivated and capable of all assigned tasks associated with the cleanliness and organization of the barn. The Barn Hand must be conscientious about organization and cleanliness. This individual must be proactive, truly enjoy taking care of a horse barn and have a desire to excel at their job. The Barn Hand must be positive, friendly and enjoy working in a team environment.
This is not a riding position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCore duties and responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned. Daily Tasks
- Clean morning grain buckets
- Muck stalls, clean bars and windowsill
- Wash stall water and feed buckets
- Laundry - wash, dry and put away neatly folded
- Sweep hay rooms, stairs, tack and feed rooms, wash those floors
- Keep tack rooms clean and organized throughout the day
- Vacuum barn, boot cleaner, dryers
- Empty all trash cans
- Stock bathrooms with extra supplies
- Keep Kitchenette stocked and clean
- Pick paddocks, clean waterers
- Check inventory of supplies
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
