Job Summary
We are a new cardiology practice seeking a dedicated and energetic Ultrasound Technologist to join our healthcare team on a part-time basis. Initially, we will require one to three days per week. In this vital role, you will utilize advanced ultrasound imaging equipment to perform diagnostic examinations to include echocardiograms, abdominal aorta ultrasounds and carotid ultrasounds. Your expertise will help clinicians make accurate diagnoses and deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Operate medical imaging equipment to perform ultrasound procedures such as abdominal, vascular, and echocardiography scans with precision and care.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor.
- Apply appropriate aseptic techniques to uphold safety and infection control standards during all procedures.
- Accurately document findings in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and ensure images are properly stored in picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to interpret ultrasound results and provide detailed reports for diagnosis.
- Maintain the operation of all ultrasound equipment through routine checks, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including anatomy knowledge, medical terminology accuracy, ICAEL diagnostics standards.
- Assist with ICAEL accreditation
Experience
- Proven experience in diagnostic sonography or medical imaging with a focus on cardiology and vascular technology diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to cardiovascular systems.
- Familiarity with operating medical imaging equipment such as ultrasound machines for vascular imaging and echocardiography ultrasound tools.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and picture archiving communication systems (PACS) for efficient record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare providers.
- Ability to demonstrate aseptic technique consistently while maintaining patient care standards in a fast-paced environment.
