Sturdy Grinding and Machining is an ISO certified company located in New Haven, MI. We provide industry leading centerless and o.d. grinding services, as well as straightening and honing to customers in various industries. Currently, we are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Endfeed Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating endfeed grinding machines and a strong commitment to producing high-quality parts in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor endfeed grinding equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and quality specifications.
- Perform machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working order.
- Maintain production records and report quality or equipment issues.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years previous experience operating endfeed grinding machines, 5 years preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
- Able to set up multiple diameter endfeed, tight tolerance to .0002", profile jobs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
