Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our condominium community located in Squirrel Hill. This full-time position (40 hours per week) is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, inspection, cleaning, and upkeep of our residential building and grounds. The role combines traditional building maintenance responsibilities with daily cleaning and janitorial duties for common areas. You will work independently while coordinating with the Association’s Building and Grounds Committee, its Board of Directors, RJ Community Management (the Association’s management company), and external contractors as needed. There may be very occasional needs outside of regular working hours, for which time and a half comp time will be provided.
Duties
Conduct regular inspections of building systems including lighting, fire safety equipment, garage doors, and HVAC components
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, doors, and building infrastructure
- Maintain common areas including rooftop deck, courtyards, garages, and waste disposal areas
- Manage seasonal tasks such as exterior water line winterization, gutter heater cables, and salt removal
- Clean common areas including lobbies, hallways, staircases, elevators, and courtyards
- Coordinate with external contractors who perform specialized services (roofing, elevator, fire systems, snow removal, landscaping, etc.)
- Monitor and maintain building safety systems including sprinklers, fire extinguishers, and exit lighting
- Perform minor repairs and identify issues requiring professional attention
- Maintain security systems including fob access records, camera log review, and coordination with security contractors
Requirements
- 3+ years of building maintenance experience, preferably in residential or commercial properties
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical building systems
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied maintenance schedule
- Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Basic computer skills for scheduling, recordkeeping, and communication or willingness to learn quickly
Preferred
- Experience with condominium or multi-family residential properties
- Familiarity with fire safety systems and local building codes
- Experience with building security systems, access control, and camera systems

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
