Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Field Service Representative to install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS). This position provides technical expertise for simulation and training systems in classroom, laboratory, training-area, and field-exercise environments at customer locations.
The successful candidate will combine strong electronics and computer-system troubleshooting skills with excellent customer service, documentation, and instructional abilities. The position may also provide technical direction and mentoring to junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, inspect, operate, maintain, and repair simulation and training systems.

Support TADSS equipment such as the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST), Conduct of Fire Trainer (COFT), Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES), and other training systems.

Perform preventive maintenance checks and services, readiness inspections, operability testing, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance.

Diagnose and repair faults involving electronic assemblies, computers, networks, displays, sensors, communications equipment, interfaces, cabling, and peripheral devices.

Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, system drawings, maintenance procedures, and diagnostic data.

Use test equipment and diagnostic tools to isolate failures to the system, subsystem, assembly, or component level.

Provide technical support during training exercises, demonstrations, system tests, and operational events.

Assist with the development, fabrication, modification, integration, and evaluation of training-support products and systems.

Configure and support networked training devices, workstations, servers, and related information systems.

Coordinate equipment setup, system checkout, teardown, transportation, and accountability for field events.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance actions, equipment status, parts usage, and unresolved discrepancies.

Monitor inoperative equipment and coordinate repairs, replacement parts, warranty support, and technical escalation.

Identify recurring failures and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective-action recommendations.

Provide technical instruction through classroom presentations, demonstrations, practical exercises, and hands-on coaching.

Observe users operating training systems, identify operational errors, and provide corrective guidance.

Prepare status reports, technical findings, operating instructions, and maintenance documentation.

Maintain effective communication with customers, operators, engineering teams, program leadership, and other support organizations.

Provide technical direction, mentoring, and task coordination for junior technicians when required.

Follow applicable safety, cybersecurity, configuration-management, quality, and property-accountability procedures.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Five or more years of experience maintaining or supporting electronic, computer-based, simulation, training, or similarly complex technical systems.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic, electrical, computer, network, and peripheral-equipment faults.

Experience using electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, cable testers, power supplies, and other diagnostic tools.

Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and technical drawings.

Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and system interfaces.

Experience performing preventive maintenance, fault isolation, component replacement, system testing, and maintenance documentation.

Ability to provide technical instruction and communicate complex information clearly to technical and nontechnical users.

Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently in field environments and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and effective working relationships with customers.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity tools.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer and training locations.

U.S. citizenship.

Ability to satisfy applicable background-screening and installation-access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting TADSS or military training and simulation systems.
-
Familiarity with EST, COFT, MILES, or comparable live, virtual, constructive, and gaming systems.

Previous Training Support Center operations experience.

Familiarity with TS-MATS or related maintenance and equipment-tracking systems.

Experience supporting training exercises in range, command-post, classroom, or field environments.

Experience with Linux and Windows-based simulation systems.

Previous instructor, field-service, or customer-site support experience.

Experience leading or mentoring technicians.
-
Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, electrical engineering technology, information technology, or a related field.

Current or prior U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
Physical and Work Requirements

Ability to work in office, laboratory, warehouse, classroom, range, and outdoor field environments.

Ability to lift, carry, install, and remove electronic or simulation equipment in accordance with applicable safety requirements.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around equipment for extended periods.

Ability to travel and work at customer-designated locations, including command posts and training areas.

Availability for occasional extended hours, weekends, or after-hours support during exercises, deployments, and critical maintenance activities.

Ability to work in varying weather and environmental conditions when supporting field operations.
