Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled therapy services to residents, including evaluation, development, and implementation of treatment plans to maximize independence and participation in daily activities.
Responsibilities
Perform occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on ADLs, functional mobility, and cognitive/perceptual skills.
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in the implementation of treatment plans.
Complete timely and accurate documentation in the medical record and therapy system.
Educate residents, families, and staff on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and safety.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
Current, unencumbered OT license in the state of Tennessee.
Long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred.
