Lumen Center for Wellness is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and driven Primary Therapist to join our growing adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This is an exciting opportunity to help build a new, mission-driven mental health program dedicated to providing exceptional care for adolescents ages 11–17.
This is a blended clinical role, allowing you to provide both intensive outpatient treatment and ongoing outpatient psychotherapy. As a Primary Therapist, you will facilitate adolescent IOP groups, provide individual and family therapy for IOP participants, and maintain a small outpatient caseload to foster long-term therapeutic relationships. This balance offers clinical variety while allowing you to develop meaningful connections with clients throughout different stages of their treatment journey.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate adolescent IOP process groups and psychoeducational groups using evidence-based interventions.
- Provide individual therapy to IOP participants as clinically indicated.
- Maintain a small outpatient caseload consisting primarily of adolescents and young adults.
- Provide family therapy and parent support sessions to promote healthy communication and lasting treatment success.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, schools, and community partners to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions based on clinical need.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations using trauma-informed, evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, case consultation, utilization review, and clinical supervision as appropriate.
- Help shape and grow Lumen's clinical programming while contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture.
Qualifications (Required)
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
- Active North Carolina licensure (or associate licensure if applicable), including LCSW, LCSWA, LCMHC, LCMHCA, LMFT, LMFTA, or equivalent.
- Experience providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents.
- Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses, suicide risk assessment, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Preferred
- Experience working in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or community mental health setting.
- Experience facilitating adolescent therapy groups.
- Training or certification in CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, or other evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Familiarity with insurance documentation, medical necessity criteria, and utilization review.

Pay: $63,953.71 - $77,019.52 per year
