Summary
Providence/Clay Elementary Schools are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join their team. This is a split position between the two schools. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love for physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles among students. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and teamwork.
- Plan and conduct engaging lessons that cater to various skill levels and encourage student participation.
- Assess student performance and progress in physical education through observations, assessments, and feedback.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment for all students, ensuring proper use of equipment and facilities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate physical activity into the overall school curriculum.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, fitness clubs, and school-wide events.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and ways to support physical activity at home.
- Stay current with best practices in physical education and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Promote a positive attitude towards physical fitness and healthy lifestyles within the school community.
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification in Physical Education for elementary education.
- Experience working with elementary school students in a physical education setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physical education principles, practices, and safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
