Growing Together Pediatrics is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and results-driven Medical Billing Manager to lead our billing team and oversee revenue cycle operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the financial health of our practice through efficient revenue cycle management, strong team leadership, and a commitment to excellent patient service.
While this is not an Office Manager/Administrator position, the ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes, mentoring staff, solving complex billing issues, and working collaboratively with our physicians and our practice Administrator to maximize revenue while maintaining a productive and positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the Insurance revenue cycle, from verifications, encounter review, and claims creation through payment posting, insurance A/R, collections, and patient account resolution.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the billing department/revenue cycle team, promoting accountability, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.
- Monitor medical billing operations to ensure claims are submitted accurately and promptly, minimizing denials and payment delays.
- Manage Insurance A/R performance, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve collections and reduce aging balances.
- Analyze revenue cycle metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Work collaboratively with our clinical, front office, and administrative teams to improve workflows and optimize reimbursement.
- Investigate and resolve billing issues, claim denials, coding discrepancies, and payer concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with insurance payer requirements, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Develop, document, and improve revenue cycle policies and procedures to increase efficiency and consistency.
- Provide ongoing education and training to billing staff regarding payer updates, billing best practices, and workflow improvements.
- Oversee provider enrollment, credentialing, and recredentialing to ensure uninterrupted participation with insurance plans.
- Assist practice Administrator with revenue reporting, forecasting, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of medical billing and supervisory experience; Or revenue cycle management experience, preferably in a multi-provider Primary Care or Pediatric practice.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims processing, accounts receivable management, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Experience working with both Commercial insurance and Florida Medicaid plans.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative leadership style.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) software. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is strongly preferred.
