POSITION SUMMARY
MUST HAVE TEXAS TEACHERS CERTIFICATION.
As the Kindergarten Teacher you will help students explore, discover, and understand the world around them. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teachers to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Our teachers bring warmth, patience, and understanding to the classroom every day, encouraging children to learn and grow. Our teachers create meaningful relationships with children and families that will ultimately lead to the success of the whole child.

Supervises: Floater/Classroom Volunteers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
- Observes all rules and regulations at the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
- Provide leadership and direction to assistant teachers to ensure the centers growth and success of all teachers
- Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
- Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with academy’s curriculum.
- Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
- Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Employee Handbook.
- Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency.
- At least 3 years experience teaching position in a licensed early childhood program or elementary school
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
- Must be able to lift to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in childcare development/school/daycare.
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or another early childhood education credential approved by the agency.
- Certification offered through a training center accredited by Association Montessori Internationale or through the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education At least 3 years’ experience of teaching in a nationally accredited childcare program or a Texas Rising Star Program Be employed as a prekindergarten teacher in a school district that has received approval from the commissioner for the district ’s prekindergarten-specific instructional training plan that the teacher uses in the teacher ’s prekindergarten classroom. Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency.
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
- CPR Certification-Infant Breathing and Choking; or must possess the willingness to obtain.

- Basic curriculum implementation and planning skills needed
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Demonstrated highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Strong commitment to building positive relationships with families and children.

- Work is carried out in a controlled, agreeable environment.
Physical Requirements
- Physical exertion includes bending, pushing, standing and walking. Must be able to move or lift approximately 35 pounds (i.e. boxes, furnishings (if necessary, etc.).
- Ability to speak clearly and distinctively.
- Good vision and good hearing acuity (with glasses and hearing aids, if necessary)
- Skill in use of computer screens and manual dexterity and skill in use of keyboard.
- Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear-well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,500.00 per year
