Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our nursing leadership team and help deliver exceptional resident care. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about long-term care and ready to grow within a supportive organization.
The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a critical leadership role within a skilled nursing setting, partnering closely with the Director of Nursing to support daily operations, staff development, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. This role serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and advocate for excellence in resident-centered care.
Assist the Director of Nursing with oversight of nursing operations
Support staffing, scheduling, and coordination to ensure appropriate clinical coverage
Provide hands-on clinical guidance and mentorship to nursing staff
Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluations
Conduct audits and ensure compliance with state, federal, and CMS regulations
Support care planning, assessments, and quality improvement initiatives
Assist with infection control and risk management programs
Promote a positive, resident-centered care environment
Step into the Director of Nursing role as needed in their absence
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (required)
Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care setting
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and CMS regulations
Excellent leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to motivate, support, and lead diverse teams
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
