The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all production equipment is maintained in a ready-to-run state so that production throughput is maximized.
This position performs hands-on equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting while coordinating with other maintenance personnel across shifts to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Technician also assists in prioritizing repairs, assessing equipment needs, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Work on and repair production machinery and facility equipment.
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Assess repairs for both short-term and long-term needs, identifying required parts and tools.
- Adjust equipment and controls to improve performance and product quality.
Production Support & Coordination
- Prioritize repairs based on equipment criticality and production needs.
- Communicate daily with production supervisors, process technician, and other maintenance personnel across all shifts regarding problems, progress, and actions.
- Maintain 5S standards in the maintenance shop and plant maintenance areas.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete maintenance reports, logs, PM records, and work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor on repair status, parts requirements, and trainee assessments.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, and plant safety programs.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards immediately.
- Participate in required safety training including but not limited to Hazardous Energy Control, Fork Truck Certification, Fire Extinguisher Training, Fall Protection, and Hazardous Communication.

Position Requirements
· 2–5 years in industrial, manufacturing maintenance
- Previous manufacturing machine repair is required for this role.
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing floor and facility maintenance areas.
- Exposure to machinery, moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and occasional loud noise.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hand and power tools.
- Must comply with all food safety and GMP requirements where applicable.
