Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Radar Systems Test Engineer -Junior located at Eglin AFB, FL. This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron, Command Control Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Agile Test Flight.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

Bachelor’s Degree and 0-3 years of relevant technical experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.

Active Secret Clearance is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Demonstrated experience with maintenance and operation of fixed and tactical Radar systems supporting air traffic control (ATC) and command and control systems (C2).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and provide system expertise.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing and briefings.
- Ability to interpret test related directives, guides and manuals (e.g. DODI 5000 series, Air Force Instruction 99-103, USAF Technical Order 00-35D-54) to derive test tasks and test requirements

Ability to review system requirements to help create program specific ground and flight test documents such as charters (test team, deficiency review board), test procedures, methods of test and test reports.

Development of both ground and flight tests to verify requirements for Radar system operations.
-
Lead and conduct ground and flight testing of Radar systems.
-
Verification and Validation (V&V) of Radar system requirements.
-
Able to travel CONUS and OCONUS, up to 25% of the time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
-
Experience with tactical Radar systems including both fixed and mobile.

Experience with tactical communications methods (radios, telephones, intercoms, telecommunications switches) including practical experience or knowledge of communications laydown to support deployed systems is a plus. Experience with tactical sensors and/or tactical or fixed communications systems and computer-based systems is highly desired.

Experience operating RS4, Radar Environment Simulator (RES) and Radar Analysis Support System (RASS) tools for radar data collection and analysis.
- Experience with the USAF technical order (TO) management process (to include creating new TOs, TO validation and verification processes, and management of existing TOs) or the equivalent commercial manuals.
- Proficiency in the use and integration of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) is highly desired.

Developmental/Operational testing experience is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Support the development of strategic test documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), test team charters and Modeling and Simulation Development Plans as applicable. Participate in review and editing of program support documentation including test directives and annexes, and Statements-of-Capability.

Provide technical support for test activities, including test planning, procedure development, data collection, and report writing.

Plan, execute, and report on developmental test and evaluation of tactical Radar sensors, tactical, and/or fixed Radar systems supporting command and control operations.

Support long-range and quick reaction test planning and provide input for cost estimating.

Review requirements, develop applicable test procedures, test objectives and metrics.

Collect and analyze test data in support of test objectives.
- Document deficiencies and anomalies of systems under test and participate in deficiency review boards (DRBs).

Work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.
- Participate in working groups and test team planning meetings to determine project testable requirements, required resources (including equipment and personnel), and determine appropriate methods to complete the test effort.
- Attend meetings to provide technical information on developmental and qualification test activities.

Analyze test results, document findings, and report to the primary customer.

Support contractor Developmental Test (DT) activities (FAT, SAT, PITCO), operational test (OT), force development evaluation (FDE), and certification for test readiness. This includes identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance, and demonstrating system stability.

Maintain current knowledge of ground-based deployable and non-deployable C2 systems.

Support the development of strategic test documents, such as TEMPs, test strategies, ITT Charters, Test Scenario Plans, and Modeling and Simulation Development Plans.-2

Participate in/lead formal or informal test and evaluation; monitor test results, including data collection and reduction; analyze test results and data against mission objectives; and perform quick-look analysis to determine mission effectiveness and requirements verification.

Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing, briefings, and formal presentations.

Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays when required to meet mission requirements.

Must be qualified and able to travel to worldwide sites as required.
